
Ambassador Dimitris Karamitsos-Tziras
The Greek Government has appointed Mrs. Elisabeth Fotiadou as the new Consul General in Los Angeles, with jurisdiction in Southern California, Arizona, Southern Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado and Hawaii. Mrs. Fotiadou, a career diplomat, has served in Greek diplomatic missions Washington DC and in Sydney, and in several posts at the Foreign Ministry in Athens, including the Foreign Minister’s Cabinet, Policy Planning and Energy Departments.
She is currently is the deputy Director of the Russia & Caucasus Desk at the Greek Foreign Ministry. She is married to Mr. Vasili Berdoukas, MD and is expected to assume her duties in Los Angeles in July 2009.
Mrs. Fotiadou will replace Mr. Dimitris Caramitsos-Tziras, who completes his tour of duty in Los Angeles and has been appointed deputy Ambassador of Greece to the United Nations in New York.
