A Rock Opera to Bring Music Back to Children’s Lives

A special performance of “Visions”, a modern symphonic rock opera, will be showcased on Monday August 24,2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Nate Holden Center for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles, California. This performance is an adaptation of “Visions” with children participating in the opera as part of a Los Angeles music summer program. The proceeds will fund the children’s program and with faith bring music back into their lives.

“Visions” is based upon speeches by Visionaries set to music in a theatrical setting. This production incorporates powerful “Words of Wisdom” by inspiring activists who peacefully fought for, justice, love, and harmony among all humanity. This unique mesh of inspirational words combined with a beautifully composed opera makes for an original musical score.

It opened as a workshop production in a small theater in North Hollywood California. This was the beginning of a long journey for a show that started with a group of Visionaries who reshaped and changed the world, as we know it today.

This highly spiritual and educational production captivates audiences of all ages and cultures. A culture is defined by having its own language; therefore what better way to express unity and celebrate humanity then a collaboration of inspirational words. Words have the power to change our minds, touch our hearts, and heal the world. “Visions” gives hope to humanity by celebrating courage in the face of desperation, love in the face hate, and above all kindness in the face of greed. In the modern word we live in today, we forget the basic importance of what is “good” and what is “evil”. In this opera, we are reunited with our ethical morals, upstanding values, and a dedication to our friends, family, community, and the entire world. This motivational and inspiring show will leave an imprint on your heart and a memory to last a lifetime.

The main character, Antonia, a homeless woman living in the streets of Glendale California, was the inspiration for Dimitris, a Greek composer, to write the rock opera along with lyricist Monie Kulick.
