Los Angeles Greek Film Festival(LAGFF) held its first fundraiser on April 24, in Beverly Hills. The event was hosted by actress and former Miss Universe, Corinna Tsopei Fields.

Festival Co-Founders Ersi Danou and Angeliki Giannakopoulos co-chaired the evening, which featured a live performance by Arianna Savalas, daughter of the late Telly Savalas, and speeches by LAGFF advisory board members Jim Gianopulos, Chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment, Kary Antholis, President of HBO Miniseries and actress, writer and director Nia Vardalos.

“The Festival relies solely on public, corporate and individual annual contributions. Due to the current economic crisis, funding from the Greek government has diminished this year and so the Festival has turned to corporate sponsors and the Hollywood Greek community,” stated Angeliki Giannakopoulos.

Danou added “The enthusiasm and local support continues to rise so we plan to keep LAGFF benefit an annual event”

Los Angeles Greek Film Festival will take place June 10-13, 2010 at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. For further information about Los Angeles Greek Film Festival please visit www.lagreekfilmfestival.org .
