Greek Actress & Musician Helena Charbila in Al Pacino’s “Wilde Salome”

Elena Charbila is the only Greek actress that participates in “Wilde Salome”,  a movie directed by film legend Al Pacino. Charblilla was a part of the theatrical play “Salome” where Pacino saw her and gave her a role in his new film which is based on the play. In Wilde Salome, Pacino takes us on a journey as he unravels and re-interprets Oscar Wilde’s once banned and most controversial work SALOME, a scintillating tale of lust, greed and one woman’s scorn

Elena Charbila was born and raised in Athens but she has been living in California for the last six years.  She originally moved to California to study theatre at San Francisco State University. Elena was also the only one to survive the vampires in the film entitled “Creed”

Besides acting Helens is also the lead singer for the band “Kid Moxie”. Her Los Angeles based music project, i.e. Kid Moxie is described as a blend of powerful beats, pop sweetness and haunting melodies.  This musical mix lead the Kid to coin the term “Gutter Pop”. In 2007 Kid Moxie released her first EP “Human Stereo”; available on Itunes worldwide. While honing songs and playing at Los Angeles events, Kid Moxie began working with producer Daniel Hoal.  Hoal is also Nancy Sinatra’s producer. In the beginning of 2009, the Kid completed her first full length album for Undo Records/ EMI titled: “Selector”, which was released in the fall of ’09.  The album is also available digitally worldwide.

Capturing the attention of many different musicians, Kid Moxie has worked with artists around the world on various remixes of songs from “Human Stereo” and “Selector”. Serafim Tsotsonis’ remix of “Tsunami” was played on heavy rotation on Greek radio stations and was in the top 10 most played songs for two months in a row. The album “Selector” contains two remixes: “Medium Pleasure” remix from greek pop sensations Marsheaux, and the remix of title song “Selector” by Fotonovella.

Kid Moxie’s song “Ma Romance D’ Hiver” was featured on SHOWTIME’s hit TV series “The L Word” in its season four premiere. The video for “Hollywood Smile,” along with “Tsunami” are currently airing on rotation on MTV/Logo TV ( U.S) and won a slot on Logo’s Top 10 Videos for March ’09.
