One of Greece’s beloved stars talks to Greek Reporter about the reason he moved to Los Angeles, the difficulties he is facing as a newcomer, his future plans and his upcoming projects in Greece. Watch the interview below:
During the 6th Annual Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, we interviewed Greece’s beloved actor Stratos Tzortzoglou. He has played in countless Greek films, television series, and plays, including the famous onstage performance of “Dorian Grey,” and has collaborated with legendary Greek directors such as Karolos Koun, Jules Dassin, Theodoros Angelopoulos and Pantelis Voulgaris.
Greek Reporter’s Christina Aloupi had the chance to chat with Stratos Tzortzoglou on the red carpet during the event, where he opened up to us about his new life in Los Angeles, his current relationship with well-known underwater photographer Gisele Lubsen, and his future career plans. He mentioned that he moved to Los Angeles ten months ago in order to explore new and exciting opportunities in expanding his career.
Despite his successful 25 year career in Greece and countless acting credits, Stratos acknowledges that his move to Los Angeles will require, in a sense, starting all over again, including acting classes, persistence and a great deal of determination.
“Los Angeles is not the city that you go to become a star, it is about discovering the real star inside you,” said Tzortzoglou talking of his move to the entertainment capital of the world.
Of course he has the loving support of his significant other, Gisele, with whom he currently resides in Los Angeles. The two met in Greece during one of Gisele’s conceptual underwater photo-shoots that had a Mythology theme, where Stratos posed as Hercules. He revealed that his future plans involve the completion of the photo-shoot trilogy, as well as a planned trip to Greece to star in an upcoming movie and a TV series.
