Alexis Georgoulis Talks About New Film and Future Plans

Only a few hours before flying to Greece, Greek actor Alexis Georgoulis spoke to Greek Reporter in LA about his new movie “A Green Story,” his upcoming theatrical tour in Cyprus and his future plans amidst the crisis.

As the villain, George, in “A Green Story” directed by Nick Agiashvili, Georgoulis accepted a role that did not fit in with his usual repertoire of friendly, loving and handsome guys. However, the actor believes that every role, whether portraying a good or an evil character, must be approached in a way that does justice to the good or evil attributes of the person, respectively. “You must be on the side of your character. Most people doing wrong do not realize this,” explained Georgoulis.

This July, Georgoulis will be touring Cyprus with a theater group performing Strindberg’s “Miss Julie.” After the end of the tour, the actor plans on visiting Greece for his summer vacation. His future plans include several projects already in progress back in LA, where he will return in the fall.

The Greek actor also spoke about the crisis plaguing the country and how this inevitably affects everyone both inside and outside Greek borders. “When your country is suffering, you are also suffering,” noted Georgoulis.

When asked about the impact of the crisis on his profession and whether he would encourage young people to become actors, Georgoulis answered that being an actor has always been a difficult job, but actors are so passionate about their work they would hardly change to another profession.
