‘Ghost Trek’ Scares Up Some Laughs from Greek-American Writer/Director

Just in time for Halloween, the web series “Ghost Trek” combines paranormal activities with humor to entertain audiences for the fright-filled month. Episodes began October 8 and premiere every Monday through October 29.

Writer and co-director Michael Plumides came up with the horror-comedy concept while sitting around watching a marathon of ghost hunting episodes and decided to create his own series.

“I wanted the characters to be founded in paranormal reality TV, but I wanted the humor to appeal to a broad viewership, so I added some reality-style drama, and I wanted to incorporate not just ghosts, but monsters, aliens, and crypto-zoo creatures with really cool effects. I also wanted it to be silly,” Plumides says of the web show.

Winner of numerous awards, including the 2011 Corman Award for “Best Comedy” at Fright Night Film Fest, 2011 Silver Addy Award for “Best Film Presentation Package” and the “Viewer’s Choice Award” at Mad Monster Party 2012, “Ghost Trek” follows the Paranormal Underworld Detective Society (PUDS) as they investigate haunts across the U.S. and abroad while risking their lives, capturing the undead and unexplained on video.
