As Catholics prepare for Easter at the end of March, Reelz is set to premiere a biblical television mini-series, “Barabbas,” starring Greek-American actor Billy Zane.
The four and a half hour series is inspired by the novel of the same name from Nobel laureate Par Lagerkvist. “Barabbas” is a story rooted in the Bible about the man whose life was spared because of the death of Jesus Christ. Shot on location in Tunisia, the series is a story of redemption that picks up where the Bible left off.
The cast also features Filippo Nigro as Pontius Pilate and Marco Foschi as Jesus of Nazareth.
“Barabbas” premieres on Reelz Channel March 25 at 9pm Eastern/6pm Pacific, with part two concluding the series the following night. For clips, and more schedule information, visit http://www.reelz.com.
