The other Hercules film, “Hercules: The Thracian Wars,” has finally wrapped production, and its star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, couldn’t be prouder of the “epic film.”

The buff actor tweeted on Friday that shooting has completed, saying, “My strongest THANK YOU to all who worked to create an epic film. Proud of you all. #ThatsAWrap #HERCULESMovie.” Johnson, who has been constantly updating fans with photos from the set, also included a brand new pic of himself as the Greek hero, seen above.

“Hercules: The Thracian Wars” is directed by Brett Ratner and is scheduled to hit theaters July 2014. The cast features Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane, and John Hurt, and the plot centers on Hercules as he travels ancient Greece with five faithful companions, selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. When the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail, he must again become the hero he once was.

Another big-screen version taking on the Greek hero, “Hercules: The Legend Begins,” starring Kellan Lutz and directed by Renny Harlin, is set to release next year in March. The two action adventure flicks are portraying Hercules in very different ways, with Lutz saying in an interview that the film he stars in is “really a story about a man, a man and the journey to get back to his love. So it’s not a man with super powers.”

“Hercules: The Thracian Wars” is based on the Radical Comics graphic novel of the same name. For more photos of Dwayne Johnson from the set, visit him on Twitter: @TheRock.
