See Who’s On the 2014 Oscar Nominations List!

Nominations for the 86th Academy Awards were announced this morning, and Greek-American filmmmaker Alexander Payne was once again recognized for his work on “Nebraska.” The film received six nominations, including Best Director, Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Phedon Papamichael was nominated for Best Cinematography on the film.

“Before Midnight,” which takes place in Greece, was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Greek-French composer Alexandre Desplat received a nomination for Best Original Score for his work on “Philomena.”

Alexandre Gavras, son of filmmaker Costa Gavras, was nominated in the Live Action Short Film Category, alongside Xavier Legrand, for “Avant Que De Tout Perdre (Just Before Losing Everything).”
