Michael Chiklis Joins ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’

ChiklisEmmy award-winner Michael Chiklis is taking on a freaky new role.

The Greek-American actor is joining the cast of the FX television series, “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” This is the show’s fourth season, with creator Ryan Murphy and team announcing the casting of Chiklis Friday during the annual PaleyFest in Los Angeles.

As noted on the “American Horror Story” Twitter account, the new season is not a circus or a carnival, but rather a freak show set in Florida during 1950 (though the series will film in New Orleans). Chiklis will play the dad of Evan Peters.

Chiklis said of the new role that he’s “terrified,” his “heart is pumping,” and “it really is a freak show.”

“American Horror Story” is described as an anthology series, with each season conceived as a self-contained miniseries that follows a disparate set of characters and settings. Each storyline has its own “beginning, middle, and end.”

“Freak Show”  is set to begin on FX this fall.
