“American Idol” alum Kelly Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock have welcomed a baby girl to the world.
River Rose Blackstock was born on June 12 and is the first child for the couple. The Grammy Award-winning singer, who is of Greek descent on her mother’s side, announced the news via Twitter, writing, “Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)”
Earlier this year, Clarkson confirmed that she was having a girl by tweeting, “We just found out we’re having a girl officially! I knew it! Only a girl could cause this much drama with all this vomiting ha!”
Clarkson and Blackstock married this past October in an intimate ceremony held on a farm in Tennessee and revealed one month later in November that they were expectant parents.
