Anna Mouglalis Stars in Upcoming Film ‘Jealousy’

anna-mouglalisGreek-French actress Anna Mouglalis is starring in the upcoming foreign indie, ‘Jealousy,’ which releases this month.

The French-language film is directed by Philippe Garrel and is shot in widescreen black and white. It opens with a man leaving his wife and daughter and, in a series of brief conversations, observed gestures, chance encounters and impulsive acts, tells the story of the relationships that flounder and thrive in the wake of this decision. Louis Garrel, the director’s son and frequent star, plays the husband who moves into a garret apartment with his fellow actor girlfriend (Mouglalis) as they struggle with fidelity and the temptation to give up their art for an easier life.

Mouglalis was born in NantesLoire-Atlantique, to a French mother and Greek father. She is fluent in French, English, Italian, and Spanish, and Greek to a limited extent. She is known for her work in Romanzo criminale (2005), Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky (2009) and I Always Wanted to Be a Gangster (2007).

“Jealousy” will hit the big-screen August 15 in NY at Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, and on Friday, August 22 in LA at the Laemmle Royal Theater. It will be available on iTunes Tuesday, August 19, and on Amazon Instant, Vudu and Google Play on Tuesday, August 26.
