Perhaps she’s taking a relaxing break before getting ready to prep “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2” or maybe she’s looking for inspiration, because Nia Vardalos and her husband Ian Gomez have arrived in Greece.
Vardalos has been posting photos on her social media accounts since late last week, hinting at the idea that she’s not just visiting Greece for fun. On her WhoSay account, the actress, disguised in sunglasses and a hat, took a pic in front of what looks to be a tourist shop with the hashtags, “#WorkTrip #Greece.”
Sharing moments from her time in Greece so far, Vardalos had a meet-and-greet with some octopus, visited the Cycladic Museum in Athens and jokingly tweeted that her shoes were baptized by “Parthenon dust.”
In May, Vardalos officially announced on Facebook that a sequel to the hit film, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” is in the works. The Greek-Canadian/American wrote the first and has scripted the second installment, which will star John Corbett, her groom in the original romantic comedy. And surely, more fun is also to be expected from the Portokalos family.
