John Stamos Stars in New FOX Comedy Pilot

As pilot season is heating up in Hollywood, news got out today that Fox ordered two new pilots, including a single-camera comedy starring John Stamos.

The former “Full House” Greek-American actor will be starring as an eternal bachelor whose life is turned upside down when he discovers he is both a father and a grandfather. The series will follow his relationship and interactions with his nerdy adult son and new grandson, who are yet to be cast.

The as-yet untitled comedy was created by former “The Office” head writer Danny Chun, and “Galavant” creator Dan Fogelman. It was originally an ABC Studios property, which both Chun and Fogelman have long-standing deals with. Stamos is also executive producing the show through his St. Amos production house.

Since Fox has now acquired the comedy, which was previously in a pilot commitment but not yet greenlit, the series has received the ‘go ahead’ for development and is expected to premiere in the 2015-2016 TV season.

Stamos recently appeared in the pilot episode of “Galavant,” a new series premiere for the 2015 season.
