Greek-French Alexandre Desplat Wins Oscar after 8 Nominations (Video)

Alexandre Desplat won the Oscar for best original score

After being nominated eight times for an Academy Award, Greek-French composer Alexandre Desplat finally won an Oscar for the original score of “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”

Desplat was nominated twice this year for his work on “The Imitation Game” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”

The composer has told Greek Reporter that Greek music and instruments have played a crucial role in his compositions and during his speech he thanked his Greek mother, the people of Greece as well as the people of France.
