“The Lego Batman Movie” will feature comedian Zach Galifianakis as the voice of the famous villain, the Joker.
Will Arnett stars as the voice of Batman, and will be joined by Michael Cera as Robin. The surprise worldwide success of the first Lego movie has led to a rush to complete this new spinoff and develop the movies into a franchise.
Galifianakis’ turn as the Joker comes as great news for the actor after his latest film, “Masterminds” with Kristen Wiig, has an indefinitely postponed release date after distribution company Relativity Media declared bankruptcy.
However, Galifianakis’ last role in the Oscar-winning “Birdman” already cemented his status as a flexible, serious actor, and you can soon catch him in “Tulip Fever” with Judi Dench and Cara Delevingne, a period romance.
