Tina Fey recently opened up about going back to NBC after Netflix, her Emmy Award nominations, and her feelings on the Oscars.
This year, she is up for two Emmy Award categories, one for the creation of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” on Netflix along with Robert Carlock, and one for her role as a guest star on the show.
Fey’s new pilot about a New Jersey mom interning at her daughter’s workplace, and the comedy that ensues, has been picked up by her old network NBC.
But Fey’s most interesting reveal in the interview has to do with the Oscars. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have co-hosted The Golden Globes for a few years now, so Fey was asked if they would like to co-host the Oscars as well one day.
The comedian responded “I don’t want to host the Oscars, but someday I’d produce the Oscars. I feel like I could bring it in to time, and that’s the only thing I have to offer. I feel like I could make the necessary cuts for it to be the right length. So I would do that.”
Let’s hope Tina Fey and Amy Poehler change their minds and take over the Oscars as well some time soon!
