Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were tasked with the job of presenting Carol Burnett with a Lifetime Achievement Award this weekend at the SAG Awards, and they decided to use their time on the air to steal the show.

Fey and Poehler first went after Leonardo DiCaprio, roasting him for his role and preparation for “The Revenant” while Leo laughed along with the duo’s jokes. Poehler joked:

“Let’s all calm down about Leonardo DiCaprio and how hard it was to shoot The Revenant, OK? So you slept in a horse and you ate bison liver…big whoop! Carol would have slept in that horse, worn it, done a song and a dance. And made a much funnier face after eating something disgusting.”

Carol Burnett is an acclaimed comedienne who has appeared in plenty of movies over the years, and is probably most famous for hosting her own variety show for 11 years, the popular “Carol Burnett Show”.

It was fitting that Fey and Poehler were the ones to award Burnett, as they themselves stated what a huge inspiration she was to them growing up, when comedy was mostly a man’s game. All three actresses have made great strides for women in comedy, and often bring up gender issues in their work.

Fey and Poehler recently starred in the movie “Sisters”, and are writing and producing plenty of content in the meantime, including Fey’s show “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”.
