On Monday night, June 11th, the VH1 Hip Hop Honors took place to honor some of the reigning queens of hip hop, and one of the best appearances of the night came in the form of legendary comedy queen Betty White.
The network paid tribute to Missy Elliot, Salt-N-Pepa, Lil’ Kim, and Queen Latifah, and White was brought on to honor Queen Latifah.
At the “All Hail the Queens” ceremony, Betty White was in good company next to major hip hop figures such as Common and prominent figures such as Michelle Obama.
White paid tribute to Queen Latifah’s hip hop contribution by delivering a dramatic reading of her 1993 song, “U.N.I.T.Y.”.
Betty White starts of the reading with one of the singer’s most iconic lines: “Who you calling a bitch?”. The audience laughed along with the hilarious dramatic reading, and the video of White’s speech has been circulating all around the Internet ever since.
