After the recent slew of celebrity deaths in 2016, including Prince, David Bowie, Carrie Fisher, Alan Rickman, and Debbie Reynolds, a Greek-American South Carolina man has set up a GoFundMe page to, as he puts it, protect Betty White from 2016.
Demetrios Hrysikos stated his reasons for starting the page as “help 2016 catch these hands if it goes anywhere near Betty White! If she’s okay with it I will fly to where ever Betty White is and keep her safe till Jan 1, 2017”.
The page has currently raised $8,765 of its $10,000 goal.
Since it’s unlikely White will actually accept the money, Hrysikos has also stated that, “assuming [White] doesn’t want a strange Greek standing guard outside her door, all monies will be donated to the Spartanburg Little Theater to help craft new stars of stage and screen to carry mantle of the legends that have left is this year.”
