After the massive success of the show “Friends”, Jennifer Aniston avoided television roles for the most part, focusing on developing her film career. Now, Aniston is finally returning to the small screen along with Reese Witherspoon in a new show purchased by Apple.
Apple is being very secretive about details of the show, even keeping the series’ names under wraps, as well as release dates. However, we do know that Apple has ordered two seasons.
The little we know about the show’s plot sounds pretty original, venturing into an area that has not generally been explored in entertainment.
Apparently, Aniston’s new series will be loosely based on the book “Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV” by Brian Stelter. The book focused on the rivalry between NBC’s “Today” and ABC’s “Good Morning America”.
Apple itself said the series was “an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, exploring the unique challenges faced by the women (and men) who carry out this daily televised ritual.”
Aniston and Witherspoon will be the major stars of the show; the two have previously worked together on the small screen, as Witherspoon played Rachel’s (Jennifer Aniston’s character) sister in “Friends”.
We will provide more details about the show’s title, plot, and release date as Apple makes the information available. In the meantime, we can’t wait to see Aniston back on TV!
