Broadway Stars Pay Tribute to Kelly Clarkson’s Music

On June 18, Broadway stars lined up to perform in a special tribute show for the singer and “The Voice” judge Kelly Clarkson, called Broadway Sings Kelly Clarkson.

At the event, 16 performers from Broadway shows including “Hamilton”, “Kinky Boots”, “Sound of Music”, and “Frozen”, came together at the Highline Ballroom to honor the songs that defined Clarkson’s career.

New arrangements of Clarkson’s hits such as “Miss Independent”, “A Moment Like This”, and “Because of You” were performed during the evening.

The Broadway Sings event, an ongoing series produced and directed by Corey Mach, pays tribute to influential artists with long careers by having Broadway stars perform unique arrangements of their most well-known songs.

Previous artists honored by the Broadway Sings event have included Justin Timberlake, Adele, and Stevie Wonder. The next event, which will take place on August 20, will focus on the music of Alanis Morrisette.

Kelly Clarkson, a former American Idol winner and one of the most successful recording artists to ever emerge from the show, can now be seen as a judge on popular contest show “The Voice”.
