Many critics are praising the first episode of the new season of “Comedian in Cars Getting Coffee”, which stars the ever-charming and hilarious Zach Galifianakis.
The premiere of season ten involves the two comedians talking about the art of comedy, and whether fame and success affect their creativity.
Galifianakis emphasized that being broke at the start of his career is part of what made him good, and that it helps most comedians hone their passion and craft.
He also believed that achieving a certain level of success has changed the way he sees and connects to the world, because people don’t always take him seriously anymore. As an example, he brought up his sister’s wedding. He said, “I cried at my sister’s wedding …and 500 people started laughing because they thought I was doing a bit.”
This might explain why Galifianakis has recently been making a move away from comedy and towards serious films. Most recently, he joined “The Sunlit Night”, a dramatic film set in Norway that stars Jenny Slate and Gillian Anderson.
