Calamos Supports Greece

MTV goes Greek!

Yesterday the Greek MTV went on air for the first time. The Greek subsidiary of MTV is still searching for young and passionate people with fresh ideas to host future shows that will be produced in Greece and abroad.

During summer 2007, Victor Restis acquired the rights to operate the Greek branch of MTV after a bidding war against Minos Kiriakou (who owns ANT1 and Macedonia TV) and Andreas Kouris who operates MAD (MAD was the first music channel to operate in Greece).

MTV Greece is broadcasting local and international music, as well as MTV’s trademark shows which are shown with subtitles in Greek. Currently it only broadcasts in Athens, but there are plans for a national broadcast sometime in the future.
