Greek American Bride in the new TLC series “Four Weddings”

The new TLC series, “Four Weddings” is getting a sneak preview tonight at 10pm (it will air regularly on Saturdays at 10 p.m. starting on Jan. 30).  Four brides, one of which is Greek American, attend one another’s weddings and rate the dress, venue, food and overall experience. The bride who gets the highest total score wins a honeymoon vacation.

Twenty-four-year-old Dimitra, of Queens, N.Y, is having a big, fat Greek wedding. A loud, booze-fueled, chaotic dance party for 300 guests will follow the traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony.

Forty-year-old Nicole is not  a fussy bride who spent three months planning an elegant, “non-cookie cutter” wedding at Belmont Racetrack in New York. Guests will mingle and munch on a buffet lunch to the sounds of an intinmate jazz ensemble. Her wedding favors include a $2 voucher so each guest can place a bet on a racetrack winner.

Nadine, a 30-year-old Caribbean-born New Yorker, is a wedding perfectionist. She’s spent the last nine months meticulously plotting every last detail of her garden paradise ceremony and reception. “There’s no room for error at my wedding! It’s going to be perfect!”

Twenty-seven-year-old Nic won her traditional dress at a bridal show. But there’s nothing standard about the rest of her planning, because she doesn’t want her big day looking like “the bride puked pink all over the place!” Guests can expect a DJ mixing techno tunes and a pipe and drum band to honor her family’s work in law enforcement.

Four weddings later, in a dramatic finale, the four brides find out whose wedding stood out. We hope the Greek one.
