Marina and the Diamonds has revealed that she is collaborating with Britney Spears producer Benny Blanco and TV On The Radio guitarist Dave Sitek.
The up-and-coming singer recently flew to LA to write with Blanco and Sitek, describing the team as “such a weird threesome – a combination of super pop and really indie”.
Blanco has worked on hits including Britney Spears’s ‘Circus’, Ke$ha’s ‘TiK ToK’ and Katy Perry’s ‘I Kissed A Girl’.
However, Marina – real name Marina Diamandis a.k.a. half-Greek, half-Welsh – revealed that the songs they write together will not be appearing on her upcoming album, The Family Jewels, because it is already finished.
Marina Diamandis was born in Abergavenny, Wales to a Greek father and Welsh mother. Her musical style ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave-style songs with full band backing.
The debut album The Family Jewels is due for release on February 15, 2010. The song “Hollywood” is to be released as the first promotional single from the album on February 1, 2010.
