Jim Gianopulos: “Most of Fox’s New Releases Will Be in 3D”

Jim Gianopulos addressing the crowd at the National Innovation Conference in Chicago

Jim Gianopulos, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment, addressed a Greek-American audience in Chicago at the National Innovation Conference 2010. Mr. Gianopulos spoke about the future of media in which he included an exclusive-for this occasion only- presentation on how “AVATAR” was created.

He also pointed out that although movies in 3D may cost 20% more than if in 2D, Fox is planning more of its future releases in 3D because viewers respond favorably to innovation.

Using 3D and the new technology that was mainly used in AVATAR, creates an exciting future for movies and media overall.  Hearing an executive’s perspective from FOX state they are willing to continue this trend even though it may be more costly, promises a future for groundbreaking movies and gives hope for endless possibilities in the filmmaker’s playground to think big, even in numbers.

NIC 2010 was organized by the Greek America Foundation.
