Greek-French actor Gillis Marini was recently the guest of honor for the gala to celebrate the opening night of Beyond, a new French cabaret style perfomance with multi-cultural dancers, aerialists, acrobats, and a smoky torch singer. It made its world premiere at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood last night on July 2nd, and will run Tuesdays-Saturdays throughout July until the first of August. The show is produced by international aerialist and dancer Aurelien Roulin and is expected to do very well.
Born to a Greek mother, Marini is a regular cast member on the ABC show Brothers & Sisters as well as a professional soccer player for the Hollywood United Football Club. He has also been seen in primetime series such as Nip/Tuck, Ugly Betty, Dirty Sexy Money, Criminal Minds and Windfall as well as the daytime dramas The Bold and the Beautiful and Passions. Marini was also in the original Sex in the City: The Movie back in 2008.
This Hollywood actor plans to stay busy this month. Marini has scheduled a 1-day guest appearance in Vancouver, Canada for the popular Ballroom With a Twist event. The much anticipated and elegant evening will include direction and choreography by Louis Van Amstel, choreographer for Dancing With The Stars.
Although his father is Italian and he was raised in France, Marini is undeniably a Greek darling and doing incredibly well for himself. 2010 is looking to be a strong year for the actor with a renewed contract for the 2010-2011 Brothers&Sisters season on ABC as well as a continuous list of public appearances throughout this year and well into next.
