A play that makes a difference! On Saturday September 10th at 8pm and Sunday September 11 at 7pm at the Beverly Hills Playhouse at 254 S.Robertson Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA, 90211, audiences will have the chance to see a play for a great cause.
“My Child-Mothers at War” is a new production by Angeliki Giannakopoulos, which is based on her critically acclaimed documentary of the same name. Stars like Melina Kanakaredes, Cindy Williams, and Frances Fisher will take center stage.
The reading is produced by the Katselas Theater Company in association with Human Revolution Entertainment.
The production is actually written and directed by Giannakopoulos’ herself and is comprised of mothers’ accounts whose sons have served in Iraq and Afganistan. Despite their differences of opinion they all have one thing in common…Motherhood! Their love for their children who are serving their country unites them.
According to Angeliki, “Converting the documentary into a staged play was not difficult”. She was thrilled that actresses such as Melina, Francis and Cindy were willing to take part and bring these words to life.
This reading is timed to coincide with the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 and will benefit the Fisher House, which is a unique private/public partnership that supports America’s military in their time of need.
