Nia Vardalos wrote, produced and starred in this video, having to do with agents who are desperate to book a celebrity name to “fete” the leader of a repressive regime.

It’s been more than a couple of weeks since the video was published and since then it looks like the load has gotten a little bit lighter for all these morally questionable entertainment agents.
Nia is highlighting the fact that certain celebrities made paid appearances at personal functions, only to discover later that the “gentleman” whom they wished “Happy Birthday” to is in reality a horrible tyrant.
Some of the names that came up was that of Hilary Swank, who appeared at the side of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov during his 35th birthday celebration in October. On finding out the truth, she fired her longtime manager and 2 staffers and donated her earnings to human rights groups.
Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, and Beyonce were some of the other names that performed for various members of the now-deposed Gaddafi family in Libya.
