Greek Nominees at the 69th Golden Globe Awards

Everything is ready for the 69th Golden Globe Awards, which will take place on January 15 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. As it does every year, the 2012 Golden Globes nominations’ list includes filmmakers and other artists of Greek descent. This year Alexander Payne’s Hawaii-set family dramedy, THE DESCENDANTS is nominated in the Best Motion Picture – Drama category and Payne himself is competing against George Clooney on the Best Director category. Tina Fey is nominated once more for ‘Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series’ for her role in 30 Rock. In the best comedy or musical category, one of the nominees is “50/50”, a comedy which includes two Greek actors in its cast: Peter Kelamis and Marie Avgeropoulos. Finally “Enlightened”, in which Greek-American actor Jason Mantzoukas plays Omar, is nominated in the category Best Television Series – Comedy Or Musical.
