It’s been a big year for Kelly Clarkson: new album, new look, debuting as a mentor on a television reality singing competition, just to name a few. Now, the singer, of Greek descent on her mother’s side, is nominated in the leading Grammy categories at this year’s awards.
Among the nods for Clarkson’s album, “Stronger,” are Record of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
Clarkson, who got her start after being the first winner of “American Idol,” has been one of the few successful artists to come out of the reality show. “Stronger” is her fifth album and debuted at No.1 on the U.S. Billboard charts when it was released.
Grammy winners will be announced when the awards are broadcast live on February 10.
