Greek Fashion Mogul is ‘Duke of Melrose’

DecadesBravo_2013_01-thumbGreek-American fashion expert Christos Garkinos is making his reality television debut alongside Decades boutique co-owner Cameron Silver.

The upscale boutique located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles will set the scene for “Dukes of Melrose,” which premieres on Bravo March 6. The show will focus on Garkinos and Silver as they buy and sell high-end vintage women’s clothing from Hollywood to Paris.

Garkinos is also co-owner of decadestwo, another L.A. boutique that has become an international shopping destination. In 2004, he and Darren Gold launched Alpha, a men’s lifestyle store located in the heart of L.A.’s prime shopping district. It was recently selected by GQ as one of the top 100 men’s stores in America.

With more than 20 years in the business, Garkinos is a highly respected expert and is known as the “Robin Hood of Fashion.” He is also proud of his Greek roots, having discussed in interviews how his family celebrates Easter by roasting lamb in his L.A. home, visiting his mother’s town in Rhodes, and wanting to having been able to share a drink with “Greek diva” Maria Callas.
