Greek ‘Lemon’ Frozen Yogurt Named After Tina Fey

ht_liz_lemon_yogurt_jef_130201_wmainBen & Jerry’s started the Greek Frozen Yogurt craze when they unveiled a series of flavors last year, including Peanut Butter Banana, Blueberry Vanilla Graham, Raspberry Fudge Chunk and Strawberry Shortcake.

Now, the ice-cream company has taken their Greek Frozen Yogurt a step further by naming a new flavor – Liz Lemon – after Greek-American Tina Fey’s “30 Rock” character. Ben & Jerry’s presented the new flavor Thursday night to coincide with the series finale. Lemon frozen yogurt is blended with a blueberry lavender swirl, which the company describes as a “lemony-blueberry” taste, to create the most recent addition to their Greek line. The packaging also features a photo of Tina Fey surrounded by lemons.

Jody Eley, marketing manager at Ben & Jerry’s, said in a statement, “We are always looking for a fun way to serve up a Ben & Jerry’s flavor, and when the R&D team came up with a lemon-based Greek Frozen Yogurt there was only one name on the list.”

“30 Rock” aired its final episode last night after running for seven seasons on NBC.
