Actor Billy Zane (Titanic) talks about portraying Barabbas in the new Reelz Channel mini-series. In an exclusive interview with Greek Reporter the Greek-American actor also speaks about his Greek heritage and a movie he has in the making that would like to shoot in Greece. Watch the interview below:
Billy Zane was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Thalia and William George Zane, Sr., both of whom were amateur actors and founders of a school for medical technicians. Both of his parents are of Greek descent (Chios on his mother’s side and Mani on his father’s side), and his family’s original surname, “Zanetakos” (Greek: Ζανετακος), was anglicized to “Zane” by his parents, who also raised him Greek Orthodox.
Zane is probably best known for his roles as Hughie in Dead Calm, Caledon Hockley in Titanic, The Phantom from The Phantom, John Wheeler in Twin Peaks and Mr. E in CQ.
Barabbas the mini series airs on Monday, March 25, on Reelz Channel.
