The Oscar-winning director shot the film in black-and-white in his hometown state. The plot centers on an estranged father (Bruce Dern) who calls on his son (Will Forte) to take him on a road trip from Montana to Nebraska in order to claim a million dollar sweepstakes prize. Stacy Keach and Bob Odenkirk are also part of the ensemble cast.

“Nebraska” was filmed late last year in various locations, including Lincoln and Norfolk. It is expected to play at a few more festivals before its release in theaters on November 22.
