Chris Diamantopoulos Joins SyFy Series ‘High Moon’

Chris DiamantopoulosChris Diamantopoulos has signed on to star in the SyFy series “High Moon,” a 90-minute pilot co-produced by Universal Cable Productions and Lark Productions. The project is based on John Christopher’s novel “The Lotus Caves.”

Set to commence shooting August 26 in Vancouver BC, “High Moon” is described as “an imaginative, out-of-this-world adventure series exploring what happens when Earth establishes colonies to mine the Moon’s resources and discover a new form of life. Chaos erupts in a genuinely emotional, humorously thrilling and always unexpected fashion as the colonists of the Moon race to uncover this life form’s powerful secrets.”

Diamantopoulos will portray Ian, a chief investigator for the American federal government who has been dispatched to the moon to figure out the causes of an explosion, and becomes stunned by what he discovers. Ian is an outwardly calm, strong and silent type but always with a dizzying agenda in his head that combines to make him a closeted neurotic. The only person with a key to that closet door is his younger brother, Marty, whose unique ability to get under his skin has led to a complex and antagonistic relationship.

The Greek-Canadian/American actor attended the East York Collegiate Institute, and landed on Broadway with lead roles in “The Full Monty (2002)” and “Les Miserables (2003).” He’s also starred on the big screen, including playing Moe in “The Three Stooges.” On television, he’s appeared in “The Starter Wife,” “Up All Night,” NBC’s “The Office,” “24” and “Arrested Development.” He’s also guest-starred in several series, including “Charmed,” “The Sopranos,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Boston Legal.”
