Gone with the Sea Goes to Hollywood

Gone with the sea

For the first time in history, a Greek short film will officially participate in the American CineRockom International Film Festival that will run from October 17- 19.

This film is no other than Marios Iordanou’s short film Gone with the Sea that will travel to the world’s capital of film making, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, to represent Greece in the 2013 CineRockom.

A few days earlier, on October 12, Gone with the Sea will be screened in London at the London Greek Film Festival where the short film was also officially selected.

Gone with the Sea is a low budget production that was distributed in the Greek theaters, something very rare for a short film.

The film, which has received excellent reviews, was completed in the spring of 2013. It it directed by Marios Marios Iordanou who also wrote the music. The script was written by Marios Iordanou and Sofia Kazantzian who also star in the film.

The plot can be summarized as follows:

Disappointed by people, a lonely artist, whose paintings show the dark side of life, goes to the sea and embarks upon a silent dialogue with her. “She” will help him discover that when the eyes of our soul are open, even if we feel alone and every (last) hope for change in this world seems to be lost, something or… someone… might happen
