‘Divergent’ Actor Theo James Signs on for ‘London Fields,’ ‘Franny’

TheoJamesTheo James, star of the upcoming action-adventure film “Divergent,” which is based on the Veronica Roth novel, is already gearing up for his next two roles.

The Greek-Brit actor, whose birth name is Theodore Peter James Kinnaird Taptiklis, is set to star in “London Fields,” about a clairvoyant femme fatale who has been living with a dark premonition of her impending death by murder. After beginning a tangled love affair with three uniquely different men, it turns out one of them will be her murderer. The thriller is scheduled for a 2014 release and includes Johnny Depp and Amber Heard as part of the ensemble cast.

James is also starring in “Franny,” opposite Dakota Fanning and Richard Gere. The plot centers on a philanthropist who meddles in the lives of newly-married couples in an attempt to relive his past. “Franny” will get a theatrical release in 2014.

“Divergent” hits theaters in 2014 as well — March 21 in the U.S., with rollout dates to follow in April across Europe. James plays Four, the love interest of Beatrice “Tris” Prior (played by Shailene Woodley of “The Descendants”).
