Academy Award-winning actress Olympia Dukakis is starring in an upcoming film, “A Little Game,” playing the role of YaYa.
The family drama centers on a 10-year-old girl who is dealing with being an exceptionally smart child, and finds an unlikely mentor in a chess master who teaches her life lessons through the game. Dukakis stars as the girl’s YaYa (grandmother).
“A Little Game,” currently in post-production, was shot on-location in New York and is directed by Evan Oppenheimer. The cast also features Ralph Macchio (“Karate Kid”), Janeane Garofalo (“Ratatouille”) and Rachel Dratch (“Just Go With It”). The film doesn’t have a release date yet.
In addition to “A Little Game,” Dukakis is also scheduled to work on the feature, “Outliving Emily,” a full-length production of a short she starred in with Louis Zorich. Directed by Eric Weber, the story centers on a long-married couple who reach their twilight years and find themselves divided over whether to plot their final moment or let it come for them.
