The first trailer for Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” made its debut on late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night.
The film, directed by James Gunn, features an ensemble cast that includes Greek-Filipino wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, and Glenn Close.
Taking place in the far reaches of space, “Guardians of the Galaxy” centers on an American pilot named Peter Quill, who finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan.
Bautista (also known as “Batista”) plays the role of Drax the Destroyer in the Disney/Marvel Studios-produced action/adventure sci-fi. In the comic book series, Drax the Destroyer was a human who was killed and resurrected with a mission: to kill super villain Thanos.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” arrives in theaters Aug. 1, but you can check out the trailer below to get a first look at the film:
