First Look at ‘Hercules’ Trailer Starring The Rock

HerculesTheRockA first look at the upcoming “Hercules” epic starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has finally arrived.

Formerly titled “Hercules: The Thracian Wars,” which is based on the comic of the same name, the action-adventure centers on Hercules as he travels ancient Greece with five faithful companions, selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. When the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail, he must again become the hero he once was.

This is the second film based on the mythical Greek hero to release this year. Another big-screen version, “Hercules: The Legend Begins,” starring Kellan Lutz and directed by Renny Harlin, failed to win over audiences after its release.

“Hercules,” from Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, is directed by Brett Ratner. The cast also features Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane, and John Hurt. The film is scheduled to hit theaters July 25.
