The Greek-American Taking Vine by Storm

NicholasMegalis

Nicholas Megalis has over 4 million Vine followers and counting. The Greek-American singer-songwriter, artist and director’s musical posts on the social media app make him one of the most-followed people on Vine.

Megalis posts many other self-made videos in addition to his music that are mostly comedic, and have featured his Greek father, Tom, who has his own Vine account with over 85,000 followers, as well as fellow Greek Andy Milonakis.

Vine is a mobile app owned by Twitter that enables its users to create and post short looping video clips. Video clips created with Vine have a maximum clip length of six seconds and can be shared to various social media networks. On his Facebook page, Megalis shared a note  earlier this year mentioning that his “Greek immigrant grandfather worked in a steel mill until he was in his 80s.”

Raised in Ohio and currently a Brooklyn, NY resident, Megalis has been active in the music industry since 2005; in addition to singing, he also plays guitar and piano. His discography includes Hands To The Sky, We All Wave Goodbye To Our Mothers, I See The Moon, Whatever I Am, You’ll Understand, Praise Be, Hype MachineI Find It Sexy How You Mislead Me, Side A, Gummy Money, and Forget it in a day.
