Tracy Spiridakos is taking a big leap to the big screen, leaving the days of “Revolution” behind her after the NBC series was cancelled earlier this year.
The Greek-Canadian actress will lead the cast of the comedy-romance “Byrd and the Bees,” directed by “General Hospital” staple Finola Hughes. The film centers on Rebecca Byrd (Spiridakos), a struggling author who, on an impromptu trip to Scotland, lives the most romantic story she’s NEVER written.
“Byrd and the Bees” also stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Ian Bucahanan, Hughes’ co-star on “General Hospital.” The film is in pre-production and scheduled for release in 2015.
Spiridakos rose to fame playing Charlie Matheson on the post-apocalyptic drama “Revolution.” To the dismay of fans, the series was cancelled by the network after two seasons.
