Greeks at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards (Full Nomination List)

Jennifer AnistonThe Hollywood Foreign Press Association has finally revealed the nominees for the upcoming 72nd Golden Globe Awards and Greeks are prominently featured among this year’s famous nominees, among them Jennifer Aniston and Greek-French music composer Alexander Desplat.

Aniston is up for Best Actress in a Drama for her performance in “Cake,” an indie film that follows a woman with a variety of addictions, living in constant pain due to a car accident in her past. Aniston underwent a physical transformation for the role, including wearing a back brace, in order to really embrace the pain of the character she was portraying.

Desplat was nominated for Best Original Score, thanks to his work on the soundtrack for “The Imitation Game.” The World War II drama stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, and delves into the story of a wartime code cracker trying to break the Enigma code.

Another famous Greek will also be present at the awards show, as the 72nd Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by the comic duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and will air on NBC at 5-8 PM (PT)/8-11 PM (ET).
