Greek-Americans at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards: Full Nominations List

Grammy Awards 2015

Music’s biggest night, otherwise known as the 2015 Grammy Awards, is set to take place on February 8th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Among the nominees are two well-known Greeks of the music industry, Paul Avgerinos and Alexandre Desplat.

Paul Avgerinos is nominated for his New Age album “Bhakti”, which he released himself through his independent music label, Round Sky Music.  The album explores yoga and Christian themes with some Indian influences.

Alexandre Desplat has once again been nominated this year for his incredible work on the soundtrack of “The Grand Budapest Hotel”.  His work on Wes Anderson’s film, released by Abkco Music & Records, is up for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.

The 2015 Grammy Awards will be televised at 5 PM Pacific time on CBS, and will be hosted by rapper LL Cool J.  This year, the show will feature 83 Grammy categories, and many performances by stars of the music world including Sam Smith, Madonna, Beyonce, AC/DC, along with some interesting collaborations, such as a joint performance with Kanye West, Rihanna and Paul McCartney.  Tune in to watch!
