The 2015 Grammys were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles today, hosted by rapper LL Cool J.  “Music’s Biggest Night” had some great performances and collaborations by a host of world famous musicians from all genres of music, including Kanye West, AC/DC, Katy Perry and Miranda Lambert.

The two Greek nominees of the evening were Alexandre Desplat, for his work on the soundtrack of “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, and Paul Avgerinos, for Best New Age Music Album for his work on “Bhakti”.

Though Avgerinos did not win, Desplat walked home with the award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media!  So far this has been a great year for the Greek-French composer, as he is also up for two Oscar nominations for his work “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and “The Imitation Game”, in addition to his earlier Golden Globes nomination.

Sam Smith, Beck and Kendrick Lamar were also big winners tonight, with Sam Smith receiving several awards for his song and record “Stay With Me, as well as the prize for Best New Artist of the Year.
