Watch Zach Galifianakis in New ‘Masterminds’ Comedy Trailer

Zach Galifianakis and Kristen Wiig are starring in a hilarious new movie called “Masterminds,” by “Napoleon Dynamite” director Jared Hess. Trailers just hit the internet, giving audiences a glimpse into the action packed comedy.

“Masterminds” is loosely based on a true story – the Loomis Fargo robbery in North Carolina where a bank employee and co-worker stole millions but got caught thanks to an awful getaway plan.

In the movie, Wiig and Galifianakis are very incompetent “criminal masterminds” trying to rob a local Loomis Fargo, like the story the movie was based on. Galifianakis is a frustrated armored car driver who decides to rob his employer of $17 million. Wiig helps out with the robbery as his girlfriend, and

Owen Wilson also co-stars as a sociopath attempting to help the duo out, and Jason Sudeikis also appears as one of the main characters.

Director Hess is going against the grain of regular heist movies by showing the criminals not as genius, suave thieves, but as dim, stupid people looking to grab some cash.

Relativity Media plans to release the film “Masterminds” in theaters nationwide on August 14, 2015.
