Betty White Joins “To Tell the Truth” Reboot

Betty White is set to be one of the regular celebrity panelists in the upcoming “To Tell the Truth” reboot, a new take on the classic 1960s hit game show.

NeNe Leakes, from Broadway’s “Cinderella”, will also be a fellow regular panelist on the show, and Anthony Anderson from the new series “black-ish” will host.

So far, six episodes have been ordered which will feature Betty White and Nene Leakes on the panel together, with a third rotating celebrity guest panelist joining them for each show.

The premise of the show is simple: three people will present themselves as the same person, usually someone with a unique job, talent or achievement, but only one of the people on stage is telling the truth. It’s the panelists’ job to figure out who is deceiving them and which contestant is the real deal, by asking them a series of questions to arrive at the truth.

However there is a risk for the panelists on the show. Anderson’s mom Doris will keep score of the questions with the best and worst results, as well as the panelist who asked each. The worst-performing panelist will then have to tweet a lie about themselves.

The show will be taped in Los Angeles in front of a live audience, much like the original “To Tell the Truth”. In fact, Betty White already has a history with the famous game show, as she had also appeared on the original “To Tell the Truth” as a panelist and in one of the show’s reboots on NBC in 1990.

We will report updates on the show, including an expected premiere date as soon as it is announced, and in the meantime keep an eye on our favorite comedienne!
